I finally pulled the trigger

After a lot of advice seeking and hesitation about which flats and gauges, etc., I purchased set of TIs for my Jazz. I love these strings and have used them on and off for about ten years on various basses. Enough with the micro analysis of other strings already. I had been trying to justify the price. In the end, it doesn't really matter. Get what works for you. If I had asked my teenage son he would have just said, " get the TIs and play the sh__ out of them." Thanks for listening. Bob

So you're telling us about a decision you made to pull the trigger on TI's 10 years ago?

I love TI Jazz Flats. They certainly are expensive though!

My set is about 6 years old been pulled off 5 basses and finally are home on my 08' AS P bass. They sound and feel great and I'm not worried about them going anywhere..

TI's are about the cheapest set you can buy when you consider how long a set will last.

When I finally took my TI's off my Precision, that same set had been on there about 8 years.

Right now I'm back to using rounds for my current band, I switch sets about every 6 to 8 weeks. That adds up.

Oh, I've still got my same set of TI's stowed away, and I will gladly put them back on whenever the flatwound bug hits again.

TI's are about the cheapest set you can buy when you consider how long a set will last.

Not if you never change flats. My oldest are 40+ years old. The rest range from 15 years old down to just a year or so.

However, I admit that extended usage makes the initial cost essentially moot....TIs and all others are roughly equal in that case.

So as Bassdog said in the first post, get what you like and play the #&$( out of them.
