What the heck? No six strings at all? Not everybody plays fivers, guys...

If they made a six-string version of that white double-cut with the triple-bucker, I would be ALL OVER IT, especially if it were in that same price bracket as the others (or cheaper). Five hundred bucks for something like that would be killer.

I see what you did there...

Yes, I realize that I am being slightly picky, but at the same time, the majority of bassists still play four strings. This is a fact. It follows, then, that the company is alienating themselves from a huge percentage of their intended customer base. The percentage of six string bassists is tiny, an the number of seven and eight string bassists are functionally irrellevant from a marketing standpoint. That is why you don't see ANY major companies selling seven or eight string basses, and only a few have six-string models.

As far as I am concerned, there is no way I'll buy their basses as long as they only sell five-strings.

I only play four-string basses. So, I'm there with you. Shame, too, since they look mighty nice for the money.

I play 6+ string basses, so there was a legitimate complaint on my part.

Five string basses are becoming more and more common, and I think (and hope) that they will eventually take over as the prominent instrument in the bass world so that more manufacturer's would place careful consideration into their body designs instead of just widening the middle section 1/2" to accommodate a wider neck. Four string basses still have the market cornered. I hardly think that one company is really doing any sort of injustice. In fact, if anything, they're helping to push it along. If other makers like their design, they might step it up and copy it with their own lines.

I shot them an email about the Super B and whether it would be available in a four-string version, and if they were going to be selling them in the States.

They already got back to me, and they said they are in talks with two or three US distributors, and that they WOULD have a four string version! They said it would be introduced in September this year. Better start saving my pennies...

I know the feeling! I came to an identical conclusion with regard to the P/MM idea and bought a real Fender 5 string P-bass pickup (before they all disappear from the world for good) to Mod my OLP with.

Bad news is that the String spacing on the Fender pickup was a bit too wide for my OLP. RATS! It is right for my Fender Jazz but that doesn't quite work either (not tearing up the Jazz to do this!)

So right now I'm still wandering in the wilderness gassing to put together a nice P/MM 5 string bass. It's nice to know that someone has already worked out all the kinks and are selling them!

I thought I was going to be the sole US distributor. I keep hearing that Italy is talking to other folks, through the back channels. Color me frustrated. We get VERY close to a deal, and then I hear nothing. I will know within a week whether I will be the guy to get these basses through. Either we will have a deal by the end of next week, or I am out.
