Less than $1.50: Invalid Link Removed
Speaker wire for 70 cents/foot is on that site, too. Not sure if the price is that great, but I got some so I can immediately put it together when it gets here. Invalid Link Removed

With shipping, this was cheaper to get the stuff to make four than it was to buy even one!

One possible issue with some non-genuine Neutrik cable connectors is that the contact assembly comes loose inside and destroys the mating connector. A much more serious and expensive issue.

I'll call the company tomorrow and ask about that.

IMHO, they're just going to tell you what you want to hear. No one is going to admit that their product is faulty.

A $1500 rig and you're looking save a couple of bucks? Not worth it in this case IMO.

Nothing wrong with making your own cables. Not only does it save you money, but you can then repair, if need be, later on.
I think everybody recommends using quality parts though, or you're just inviting problems.

I'm kind of for & against the Neutrik 1/4" plugs. Some other brands have a hole drilled in the shielding side of the connector, so it's easier to solder to. I guess you could drill your own on the Neutrik.

The Amphenol might be the best 1/4".

I'm already using mostly Neutrik for SpeakOns though, and they just seem to dominate the market.

You have me changing my mind about this now. That was quick!

Actually, I mean I'm going to cancel the connector order and get some Neutriks. I wonder if there'll be any locally?

5 bucks and change at any GC. That's where I get mine. Since we're on the subject, I use the 13 g speaker cable from www.parts-express.com.
