I too am ready to quit smoking and have tried on several occasions but always fail. The main reason for me is music. Playing in bars with booze everywhere makes it very very hard to quit. Also, about half of the guys I play with smoke.
Is that what you meant by "going away"? I feel that the only way for me to be succesful would be to cut all ties with bands and bars for a while.
