I had to go away...

Some of you may have noticed I've been gone a while. Some of you may have missed me. Some of you may have said "Oh, good riddance, she's annoying!" Some of you may have said, "Huh?"

I quit smoking. I decided to stay away because I had to keep my tact function turned off during withdrawal. Figured it would be best to go away and still have friends when I got back.

So...100% nic-free. No more patches. No more gum. No more money spent on nic. I can run again...really run. I can sing again, without having to work hard and being flat all the time. I have 200 extra minutes in my day for playing bass.

I just wanted to wait until I was a nice person again, before talking with my TB friends. 'Cause I love y'all like that.

Cherie :) :bassist:
Great job, Cherie! That's fantastic news. And welcome back, you were missed.:)

Congratulations Cherie!
I just recently quit myself! 23 days nicotine free and like you said, I can actually run! Its amazing how quickly the body can begin to heal itself after so much damage being done!:hyper: Kudo's to you!!!!

But seriously, nice job hun!

I was never a hardcore smoker (half a pack a day tops) but I went from just bumming a smoke or two at practices and gigs to buying packs of my own. I'd often throw away a half a pack insisting I was done only to buy another pack the next day. Now it's been over two months without a cigarette and I feel a lot better. It's funny but after a few weeks of quitting the smell of smoke started to disgust me which helps prevent me from picking up the habit again.

Best of luck.

I didn't think that I was ever going to be able to quit having smoked for 25 years and trying to quit numerous times. I started taking the Chantix medication and it is a wonder drug! Its amazing! 23 days without a cigarette! No cravings at all. If any of you smokers out there want to really kick the habit then I strongly recommend using the Chantix.
