So long story short, my drummer thought he was Bootsy and broke my G string (on my bass!) My wife has stated I need a tetanus shot to touch my bass, so I bought new rounds. Another long story short... my bass now has 3 old strings and 1 new string that sounds awful! I've read on here that boiling strings brings them back for a day but they go dead really fast. Any chance I could boil this new string to death? I sound like I have a piano strung up when i run up the neck and I can't stand it. I've been trying to lay off it because it makes me cringe, but I can't all the time, think that's just opposite of what I should be doing but good grief! Can't listen to this thing! How do I get rid of this "zing" fast?
