i hate supplied backlines

I hit a new low in supplied back lines last night. I showed up to find an old beat up Hartke HA2500 and an even more beat up Hartke Transporter 410. It may have been the worst rig I ever played through. It had midrange, and nothing else. No bottom, no highs, no tone. If I dug in the least little bit, it farted like a madman (I was not loud at all.....). I played first set with my Stingray Classic, and the next two with my Big Al 5, thinking more tonal options may help. It didn't.

However, at the end of the gig, when I didn't have to tear down, I liked it a little better.

You have my sympathies, Cheeze. The Transporters are some of the worst sounding cabinets ever made, IMO...and I love the XL and HyDrive series.

Yup/ +1..
Im right there with ya.. I can make anything work...
But when i know there is back line i travel with either my Genz Shuttle 9 or Streamliner900.. and plug into what ever cab they have.. At least i KNOW my DI outs are going to be pristine..

My nightmare was on a gig in Paris,France.. Co-Bill with Robin Trower last year.. My Backline Rider stated TWO -- 810 cabs, dont care what brand, ampeg, Aggy, Ashdown whatever they had but two of them..... I get to soundcheck and what is there..
Marshall 100 watt stacks as the two guitars needed and for me ----- ONE GK 115 cab... and a GK head.. It was 1/2 of requirement of the Previous bass players rider..***! communication Rider error...
My crew guys and engineer got on the promoters tail.. but nothing was to be had in Paris on that day at that time..... I had my Genz head with me , a Shuttle MAX12 .. and I got by with it into the cab and the DI out running a nice 215 floor wedge... Since then everything has been OK....

I'll make anything work. I may not like it but I'll make it work.
