Hep cats also play hollow body jazzboxes.Much much worse than this is in the acoustic guitar world when people (usually bluegrass folks) call a guitar a "box" or worse yet a "guitbox." BLEAH!!!!

One that annoys me is people calling a bass drum a kick drum. It's a bass drum, kick is a more recent slang word that has unfortunately become more accepted. The one that annoys me is people calling a kick drum a bass drum.
Oh, c'mon, they're talking about the tone control, which controls the amount of treble is reduced. I thought everybody understands that. I think you're easily annoyed, IMO, which if it annoys you, please disregard....What REALLY annoys me is people talking about turning the tone up "full". There is no more or less tone, there is more or less treble.

Slightly off topic.
Back in the day we used to say top and bottom for…
The head and cab.
Back to the OT.
Yes, No.Is this a campaign to stop ppl using accepted terminology ...
I'd just say work with it, its no big deal.
Every time I watch a video or read a discussion about pickups that use front and back, I get very irritated. I have to keep watching till they either point to it or reference it by the control knobs. Why do I have to be a detective to understand which they mean?
C'mon! There is a neck, middle, and bridge for position reference.
There. Whew!
The one that annoys me is people calling a kick drum a bass drum. Maybe because I was a band geek in high school and bass drums are played with your hands and a kick drum is played with your feet. But I don’t completely flip out about it or anything. It’s more so just goofy to me. It’s like these days there are 9 string guitars that range wise go lower than a standard tuned 4 string bass. I don’t call it a bass just because it goes into that range.
Advanced and trailing pickup?
