I have a cab which I have no clue about

Hi all, I was wondering if I could get some clarification on my own cabinet (I know I really should know about my own gear)

but I bought a Carlsbro Stingray 150 Head (Love it) and the guy at the shop said that he'd throw in the cab for free because I'm always in there buying stuff (nice I know) but all i know is that its a 1x15 and he got it on part ex from another guy and after pulling the speaker out I saw this on the back of the speaker

Can anyone shed any light on it ?

also another question I have a feeling it might be a stupid question but what are the vent type things underneath for ?

Cheers for all your help guys :help: :D

The vents underneath are called ports. They're used in many cabinet designs. How they affect sound has been argued for decades. Either way, it was nice of the shop owner to give you that cabinet. Fane is a loudspeaker manufacturer, 15/150 I would guess to mean that it's 15 inches across, and handles 150 watts. 8 ohms is how much resistance your amp will see at the output jack.
