I have a hard time slapping the open E consecutively

I'm practicing the Marcus Miller riff in ''Run for Cover'' but I can't consistently slap the open E twice in a row. Can you give me some tips for improving myself? Has anyone else had this problem at some point? My action is fairly low btw.

Google says he double thumbs, which is certainly more efficient than just slapping it twice. I don't play that way, and it can take some time to get the second slap of similar volume. Both are valid and take time to get right. Kinda depends what you want to do, and, more importantly, how your teacher teaches you (if applicable).

With practice, the pinpoint accuracy of thumb slaps improves.

Also, try pointing the thumb more toward the headstock, to minimize accidental adjacent string misfires.
