I have a problem with "Mad Max"

Ok, they sabotage "Goose's" bike and he crashes. Why don't they kill him then? They wait for him to commandeer a truck, cause him to wreck by somehow hitting the windshield with a brake drum, then after he is trapped, they torch him! Wasted effort!

Perhaps they (Toecutter, et. al.) assumed that he'd die in the initial crash. When they found out that he had survived, they went back out and finished the job. I don't know... I didn't write the thing.

Because they weren't around when he crashed. Remember his radio was damaged so he didn't get help for a good while which gave the Toecutter time to find out in some way Goose survived the crash, duh! Besides, I think the Goose should've offed himself on principle alone because he spent the night with that ugly as hell singer.
