I have a serious problem!

I seem to have misplaced my strap and am wondering if its a good idea to like.....tie some string onto my bass and use that as a strap or....use my old strings as a strap. I need ideas!
(I'm not joking this is an actual first world problem).

Whooops!

If it's for a show you can probably borrow one for a little while or at least find a stool!

In all seriousness you can use a strip of canvass, leather or any fabric if it's used right. I guess it depends on how crafty you are...

An spare instrument cable and some old string eyelets at either ends might work. Try some prototypes immediately. After one last search.

Man, just go buy a strap, I mean even if its a desperate middle of the night situation you can go to a 24 hour Wal-Mart and get a real cheap one from the small music area in the toys section.
It'll cost like $5 bucks or so. Problem solved.

Use a heavy guys belt and just cut slits into each end to hook onto the strap buttons.

Play seated.
