I have Les Claypool's strings

I got a set of used bass strings from when I went to Les Claypool's concert. Les's bass tech, Derek Walls, just walked up to me before the concert( I was behind the venue where the buses were) and handed me a set of Dean Markley Nickel Plated bass strings. He told me they were the strings from the night before. The thing is, though, I have never seen these type of Dean Markley strings before. I will post pics tomorrow, but on the package it looks like the regular Blue Steel package but it has "Nickel Plated" written in red lettering right below the title. I wonder if Les has some sort of deal with Dean Markley strings that make special strings just for him? Anyway, it was a good concert, I also got a broken drum stick from the drummer Mike Dillon, nice guy, and Les signed a bunch of stuff for me. Tell me guys if you know something.

I haven't seen him or heard him so I can't comment on his ability, but Herb (Tim Alexander) is in my opinion, utterly fantastic. When I saw the "Animals should not try to act like people" tour, it was the original line-up. The first set was the entire "Sailing the seas of Cheese" album. Totally freaking amazing.

saw les a few weeks ago at his only NW show this tour in eugene, OR.

absolutely great showman. and had a little impromptu signing session afterwards which was super awesome.
lots of set lists given out, lots of strings given out.

anyone know the name of his percussionist? not the guy on the set, but the guy playing the GLockenspeil? that guy was amazing.

Technically the original line up was Todd Huth on guitar and Jay Lane on drums who is now going on tour with Primus again.
Herb is the shizz but Lane ain't no slouch either. He played with Les in Sausage too.

I through a set of these Medium light NPS strings on my Streamer Jazzman 5. Holy hell are they aggressive and bright. Awesome for cutting through. They were almost too much at first but after a few weeks they are just right. They feel great too. Very responsive and have a nice flex to them. Tap and slap effortlessly. I put a set of DR Sunbeams Medium light on my Lakland around the same time. Totally different feel. Both good but I'm liking the NPS's a little more. The Sunbeams a little stiff for my taste.
