I have switches IN my bass?!?

Changing my 9vt when I noticed two switches on my bass eq knob. I have a 2002 Schecter stiletto elite 4 with emg hz pickups and an active treble and bass. On the bass pot there is a small circuit board with the emg 5-wire Quik-Connect Cable and this thing

When I flip the switches it doesn't sound any different. What is this?
P.S. First time using paint lol but that F is amazing

Counter-intuitively, it controls the frequency that the treble knob acts on.
The preamp in those basses is this one:Invalid Link Removed
That page has a link to the manual, which has the combinations in it.
I went through the same thing with my stiletto, so this should help.

if you flip the switches and turn the tone all the way down...and the volume all the way up.
the bass will burst into flames.....or it won't. not really sure.

Oh. I forgot to mention this part. That WILL happen... so be careful. However, it does make an awesome stage appearance.

I was surprised to find a hidden trim-pot *under* a preamp one time, but then I was glad because it came in really handy to match levels with another bass.

Then there was the guy here on TB last year who was convinced he had a rare passive Ibanez SR because there wasn't a separate battery compartment. Took about 7 posts saying "Open the control cavity" before he finally found the battery.

Back in the wild days, bands would smuggle all sorts of things across borders any way they could get away with.

ALWAYS take the lid off the control cavity--there might be something in there worth knowing about. Voodoo dolls, messages, money, dope...
