I'd actually be really curious how that sounded. For that matter I would be just as curious as to how the two cabinets compare to each other on their own. I have a friend who rocks a block of those PJB cabs and they are surprisingly loud, have no shortage of bottom and are very responsive. I have been looking at 15" cabs recently but have yet to hear the Subway. From what little I understand sensitivity is very important when matching cabinets. I'm going to go out on a limb without looking at the specs and guess that the Phil cab is more sensitive as they were hella loud, especially considering their size. So please tell us how they sound and compare

The 15” completely overpowers the Phil Jones cab. To the point where the tone is identical to my ears with or without the 4x5” on top. Just louder with both.

I think you will find that the average sensitivity of the Subway 115 to be more than 3dB higher than the other cabinet. This means that you will be hearing mostly the Subway, so you will want to be especially careful that you don't damage the other cabinet as you probably won't hear it as it hits its mechanical limits. Your Shuttle 9.0 has enough power to drive each cabinet to its limits, something to be aware of.

My theory on the sizes has always been that the smaller size will add more punch, the larger size more ring as well as tonal influences. If you're finding the tone doesn't change with the 4x5, does it at least seem to influence the attack?

Nope....Just Ampeg SVT 12's. Sometimes just 1-112 and sometimes 2-112's.

That’s awesome. I stacked one of my pjb c4’s over an Ashdown VS112 and it made beautiful sounds compared to each separately. Quite a compliment to each other.

Let the guy have some glory moments for a bit man. He is probably gonna crack the glass behind before hitting any limit or torture the dog lying next to the cab.

Those PJB cabs alway look weird with anything else.
