Can anyone tell me how he get that deeeeeep, earthshaking tone? I didn't have much time to fumble with the EQ on my MAG300-H head last time we rehearsed

Is it just enough lows/low mids with treble cut or?

Well, the fact that he wires all of his own pick-ups might have something to do with it, but I can't figure it out either...

Get a Fender Jazz like Tim, and play it thru an Ampeg SVT2 ...

There is your solution. (check out the article above)

J/k ... of course there are other ways to get a similar tone.. just keep playing with your eq man..

Sounds like a cabinet with at least one large-diameter speaker, driven by a powerful amp.

I played through countless rigs back int he 60s and 70s that used a powerful amp (for those days) and a low frequency speaker of 15" or 18" that sounded even BIGGER.

It also sound as though he's cut the high frequencies on his bass.
