I love Ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...MEWA:IT&viewitem=&item=190124843812&rd=1&rd=1

I asked the usual questions about this bass - i.e. are there any issues with the neck, truss rod, electronics, etc. Here is the exact response from the seller in it's entirety :

"Hello, the neck looks nice and straight, I pluged it in and all knobs work fine. Never tryed the truss rod and don't want to."

If you were selling a potentially valuable item on Ebay - any item - but didn't know much about it, wouldn't you want to at least consult someone about it's value and what makes it valuable in order to increase your chances of a successful sale? :bawl:

$100 for shipping? Where do these sellers come up with their inflated shipping prices? "Well, it's for insurance."

Bullsh*t. If it sells for $2800 the insurance will cost less than $15. Total shipping shouldn't exceed $45, so he's pocketing an extra $55 for nothing.

Robbery.

That right there is what every Chinese-based seller does on ebay.com.au. Charging $80 for shipping of a camera lens from China to Australia? Get lost. $40 tops.

If buying a bass or amp on ebay I would pay whatever it takes to get insurance. Then again it doesn't really matter: UPS recently denied a claim my seller had filed since the amp had arrived defective. Since it was an internal problem I know it was the seller who wasn't bullsh-tting me. At least the seller gave me some money to cover the repair costs. It's annoying as hell.

Beware when purchasing large items on ebay. Not worth the hassle.
