I install it on all the machines at work, which makes the users happy.

IE 7, better than nothing.

Safari = crap. Even on OSX FF is a lot better. The store staff was so happy when I put it on their Mac. Things work on the interwebs that never worked on safari, at least according to them. I never use safari, I've avoided it per the advice of even my Mac using friends.

Big FF fan here, but it keeps crashing on my new Vista OS laptop. I can't explain it. I have to uninstall otherwise it locks up my whole computer. For some reason, it's not shutting down when I "x" out of it; when I hit Crl-Alt-Del, I see it running as a process untill it finally locks it up.

Same problem even after the new Vista service pack install. Not having that problem with IE, probably for obvious reasons.

Please tell me more about this thing called "Safari"

That's odd. I run Vista and it works perfectly fine.

Opera for browser and Thunderbird for email makes me happy. I read somewhere that Opera is even more secure partially because of less users = less incentive to attack.

another one that no one mentioned is firefox showcase... lets you view all the tabs you have open at once... nice for keeping track of multiple tabs.

Opera for the win. It was the browser that introduced things like tabs and mouse gestures, it's the slimmest and fastest one (no memory leak like in FF), it can use FF plugins, it's supported on all imaginable platforms.

Firefox is great especially with the IE tab for those annoying websites.

I've never used opera though.

One thing to look at is the IE Tab add-on. It actually opens up a real IE tab inside FF (they look like and are positioned like FF tabs, but have an IE logo) for those sites that don't quite open correctly in FF (unfortunately, there are still a number).

I installed this add-on a few days ago and I must say it's great, specially because Hotmail doesn't like Firefox. However, I've noticed that the browser now gets slower after a short time. Is IE Tab a resource hogger or something else may be causing this?

I think the main reason people still use IE because of the obvious; it comes already installed on all computers running any version of Windows. For years I honestly didn't know another type of web browser existed, but I sure am glad I eventually found out. I will never switch back to IE.

For years I used the Netscape browser(!) because it had a nice integrated email app. Now I use IE (7 only!) or FF depending on what I'm doing.
