Double Bass I married well!

Posting this a little late - 2 weeks past my 38th anniversary.

The other day someone asked me who I had work on my bass. (Apparently he inherited a beat-to-hell Kay, needing repairs which might challenge any resale value.) I answered, "My wife!"

Later that day, I happened to notice my bridge had been shifted a good amount (as demonstrated by the dust I had conveniently allowed to build up as reference points!) I don't remember it taking an especially hard hit recently, but as I looked it over closely just now, I am well on my way to adding "patina" to this newish ply. :D.

Sure, I coulda just loosened the strings and shoved it over, but I asked her if she'd want to take a look at it before I head to practice tonight, and she said, "Of course." She takes a bit of well-deserved pride in keeping all of our instruments in superb shape. So right now she has it up on her bench and - as is her wont, as long as she's checking the bridge, she's giving it a nice once-over!

Then, when she's done, she might bake a blueberry cobbler! I'm a lucky man! I might even have to stop off and pick up some vanilla ice cream!
