Over the past few weeks I have had a series of bad luck cell phone calls.

The IRS called to say there was a warrant issued for my arrest for back taxes.

Then Microsoft called to inform me that my PC was infected and to call back to pay them to get it fixed.

I thought nope, this is happening to people all the time and I should buy an Apple computer. Then, I get a call from Apple saying my computer (that I haven't bought yet) was compromised...those Apple folks sure are smart.

Today, while at lunch, I receive a voice mail from Social Security advising that my account had been suspended.

So, here I am without any means to pay my back taxes, hire a lawyer, pay Microsoft or buy an Apple computer.

Its got me wondering why no one wants to steal/compromise my cell phone account.

I may have to go into hiding... ;).

I get around it by pretending to be a helpless elderly person who is grateful they called to help me. After about 12 minutes of stalling I tell them to go pound sand. The Middle Eastern "gentlemen" are the ones who get SUPER pissed. The guy who was being so nice for the last ten minutes suddenly flies off the handle and calls me every English bad word he can think of.

Last week I flew off the handle at the guy who said the IRS agents were parked around the corner ready to come arrest me if I don't pay up. I did my best lunatic who owns 758 firearms and is itching for a fight.

"Bring it on yah commie bastards!!!!! I'm loaded and ready!!!! Tell 'em to pack a lunch cuz it's gonna be a long day!!!!!!! Woooooohooooo! Let's DO this!!!!! I'm on the porch!!!!! Where they at????? I'm ready!!!! Come at me bro!!!!!"

When I was dealing with them years ago it was my understanding that the I.R.S. would never call you. They only notified you by mail and give you x amount of days/weeks to call to make payment arrangements or pay them. HOWEVER they would lock down your bank acct or have your job to hold your pay if you didn't reach-out to them. Call only the official number they give you with your information. You can tell it's a Government letter...or you can see your local Priest.

^This is funny when you put it into your words.^
That said, I hate all scammers and the ones from India seem to be the worse. I received four SS number calls on my cell in one single day.

The serious scammers have pretty much given up after they pressed me to say no three times before breaking a call. I warn then on the second no that if I have to say no again they are not going to like it, then proceed to scream obscenities at them until they hang up. It takes a couple doses for them to get the message but they do get it. But that cuts me down to the robo call scammers who you can’t get rid of without holding for an “agent” so i just ignore their calls.

Thank you @Stewie26. It was intended to be funny, only to draw attention to how stupid it is to allow this criminal fraud to continue. In this day and age, all communication service providers have the ability to cut service to those who do not pay their bills. They also have the ability to track complaints and cut service to those who use the service for illegal purposes. The manufacturers of the devices have the ability to prevent manipulation of device ID's. Problem is, if they do not want to take responsibility, as much as I don't like it, it's time for state and federal agencies to do so. It does not have to take consumer taxation. Stiff financial penalties could pay to bring it under control. The details are above my pay grade but I know it could and should be done. The seniors who are being victimized and the public in general who are being inconvenienced deserve better.
