I just soldered a new jack on my sr400. The output is very weak, and the preamp does nothing. I can hear cycle hum over the pickup output on the amp. I also sprayed the preamp with electronic cleaner to clean out the pots. Any idea what I did wrong? Thanks in advance.

The positive from the battery should not be connecting to the output jack at all.
The output from the preamp goes to the Tip terminal, the negative terminal on the battery goes to the Ring terminal, and the Sleeve terminal goes to ground.
BTW, by putting the battery to the output jack that way, you are injecting DC offset into your signal. Depending on how your amp is setup, you may end up prematurely wearing out the speaker cones.
