I might be buying a Lowe medium scale conversion neck (Poll)

I'm getting a Lowe's Custom medium scale conversion neck. Which choice would you make? Info in post.

  • Put the new neck on the PJ, leave the Jazz alone, maybe move the PJ's maple neck to the P-bass.

  • Put the new neck on the Jazz. Maybe move the Jazz neck to my PJ and the PJ's neck to the MIM P-bass.

  • Only make changes to one bass. Probably the PJ. Sell the MIM P bass?

  • That seems like a lot of effort. Maybe go make a sandwich instead?

I've been corresponding with Mr. Lowe from Lowe Custom Guitars about one of his medium scale conversion necks. I'm trying to buy a new roasted maple neck from his next batch. He's a little backed up, but if/when it works out, I have two basses I might put it on, and another bass I might put one of the first two bass's necks on, since I prefer maple necks and it has rosewood. The three basses are a burst American Pro Jazz, a frankensteined PJ made from a nice maple Player P-bass neck and a Squier VM PJ body with an EMG Geezer Butler pickup set, and the last one is a MIM P-bass with rosewood neck.

I really want to try medium scale for comfort reasons (bad back and shoulder) and can afford to do it this way. None of these basses are all that collectable or have remaining warranties. The Jazz is a nicer bass. The Lowe neck costs more than I paid for the franken bass, but the PJ is light and sounds great. I'm considering selling the rosewood board P-bass.

Ultimately I have to make my own choices, but I'm curious to hear what other people would do, and writing this out is sort of a critical analysis exercise. I think I know which way I’m going to go. What would you do?

Here's a quick picture. The jazz really needs a black pickguard I think.

It's Brad's fault that he's backed up, he eats a LOT of cheese. Personally, I'd drop it on the frankenstein.
