I need a De-Thumpilator

You tap hard !

I almost not tap at all.

very early on it was ingrained in my mind to not do that… I was playing db in school orchestra. In that setting if you tap or move your foot enough it will make the stage vibrates and messed everyone. And in worst case scenario it would be heard since they are made in a way that you can heard very well.

when something isn’t working I may find sheet music and just read it while doing a tap with my finger so I can hear where everything must land.
 
Use your toes. Better yet, keep the time in your head - leave your feet out of it. I constantly have to tell a piano player friend to stop pounding her foot.
I have to respectably disagree. My dad was a High School band director and insisted students use a physical motion to help keep time.
I also have a suggestion for the OP. Try keeping the ball of your foot on the floor and use your knee.
 
If tapping (stomping?) your foot is annoying the neighbours in your apartment building, maybe buy one of these:
