The other day my friend unknowingly sent me a particularly nasty virus. For days I tried to start up my computer to no avail... until now. For some reason, things are... sort of kind of working. I'm having a lot of trouble with the CD drive so Norton is a no go... I need something from online. I'm also a little skeeved out about giving out credit card info while I have this virus, so I'd really prefer a free program if one exists.

I need a free virus removing program ASAP

Hmmm, this is going to be rough. I tried it but it only works on internet explorer. Right now only Firefox is working for me. My start buton in the corner of the screen doesn't work so unless there's an alternative way of starting internet explorer, I won't be able to do Housecall.

Those aren't reall anti-virus programs. Viruses and spyware are different things. But I also second the AVG. I have used it for two years with great results.
Oh, you might also try a system restore if things get too whacked.
