I need a new bass amp for jazz

Hi guys, I play in a jazz orchestra. I need a piece of advice. I need new amp, the last one was for guitar, but nowe we're getting better and I need a new equipment.
I need a bass amp for playing jazz capable of playing at lives and with a budget of 450-500 bucks.

The one I found worked best for me in a jazz setting (and I tried mark bass and GK and EA and some peavey thing that was lying around) is the Genz Benz shuttle. Can still be found used, and now that they're up and running again, there could be some cool new options.

Well, I can actually get basically any brand I want. I probably should've mentioned I'll buy it online

I have used all my amps and all my cabs for jazz, and rock. It's far more about the particulars of the gig that lead to one choice over another.

I live in Italy so it's 220v if that's what you meant. I'm looking for a combo and my budget is 450€

Just to clarify, since newcomers sometimes have a bit of trouble finding their way around, we're talking electric bass guitar, yes?
'Cause DB amplification is sometimes a different thing...
How big a room are you thinking you'll need to fill (number of persons...)
Do you have FOH support and this would be for stage monitor mostly? Or do you need to carry the whole room?
As someone else asked - are you looking for a combo (amp and speaker cab in one) or a separate amp and cab?
More to the point of location - the hot setup is always going to be used, and it's no good telling you to 'just go check CraigsList' if that resource is not available to you...

That's right, we're talking about electric guitar bass. I need to carry the whole room, which can vary. We play outside but also indoors. I think that something around 400w should be OK. I know the volume doesn't entirely depend on the watts, but yeah, I think that something around 400-600w should do

If you're in a jazz ensemble, you probably don't need a 500W amp. If you need to be louder than ~100-200W, the other instruments will be mic'ed and you would either be mic'ed or have a line-out into the PA. Looking at Thomann.de, in your price range I see some OK-looking options in your price range, such as the Ibanez Promethian (never played one, but have seen it praised), GK MB112-II, and the TC Electronic BG250's.

As always, your best deal will be to find something used, but depending on where you live, your choices there may be very limited. Don't forget to check the TalkBass classifieds. Most of us are in the US, but it's a good community to buy/sell in, and it's worth a look.

I could actually imagine 60W being enough with an efficient speaker. If that does it for you, then the Micromark and the EBS Session 60 might be good options.

Outdoors I use Trace 250w which you could equate to modern 500w amps. 210 plus 115 cabs. It's anything up to 18 piece jazz rock. The drummer has a hefty kick when he wants to, four trombones etc. Not the loudest band but pretty darn loud in the loud bits. I haven't tried any modern 12 cabs but I doubt they would come up quite loud enough after reading about so many blown 212 neo cabs used in rock bands.
