I need a pitch shifter

What would you guys recommend for a simple octave up? Smallest footprint possible and only need an octave up.

I want to start using one with the B9/C9/Key9/Mel9 series

Definitely go digital, not analogue — for your needs/purposes.

"Smart Harmony" on the M5, though the "Pitch Glide" can be set up in a way that's cool too.

Even so, I wish I had a Pitch Fork...

Upping an older thread, looking for a solution that pitch shifts a quarter up... I use 1 line in a song that is in fact written on the 4 lowest strings of a 6 string bass (A - D - G - C), but due to some back issues, the 6 stringer is gone.

There is no use for a 6 string bass or a retuned bass for only that 1 song.

What are the options?

What do you mean by "quarter up", in terms of half-steps?

Well, if you check out my second post in the thread I compared the Drop, Droptune, M5, and Pitchflex (Pitchfactor/H9). The last two can go up in any sort of increments, so they would do the job for you. The M5 is a lot cheaper than buying an Eventide pedal.

Other people here have mentioned the Pitchfork, I'm pretty sure that will do +4th (5 semitones). In the reviews I've read it seems to have worse latency than some of these other options because it is more of a harmonizer, but lots of people swear by it. YMMV.

Son of a pitch this was confusing at first — I couldn't figure out why you're needing to go up if you got rid of the 6-stringer and no longer have the lower strings.

Then I re-read your post and "(A - D - G - C)" — ahhh, high C what you mean now.
I was going to pitch in with suggesting the M5, but Adamixoye already toned up, as he frequency does, and made sound suggestions.

Or play the correct note value really high up the neck and use an octave-down...
