I need a sci-fi nerd stat...

I was having a conversation with a friend of mine, and a memory came up of an old sci-fi show. I tried to work it into the conversation and then realized that I couldn't remember what the name of the dang thing was. She thought that it might have been a Dr. Who thing, but I didn't think so. I posted a bulletin about it on myspace, then realized that I had a better chance of drumming up an answer here. Therefore I'm reposting that bulletin below.

OK, this is going to bug me until I find the answer to this. There was a show that came out circa mid-70's. A sci-fi BBC show that featured these alien thingamabobs that were giant pink looking bubbles that bounced along until they came upon a hapless person. Then they "attacked" (read they engulfed them till the person looked like they had on a layer of Hubba Bubba over their whole body). Someone mentioned to me that they thought that this might have been on Dr. Who, but I could've sworn it was a show entirely unto itself. Then again, what the hell do I know.

Google is failing me, so if anyone out there is up on their 70's british sci-fi I would appreciate a little help here.

Just do a google search for The Prisoner Rover (Rover was the name of the security bubble)- it may or may not be what you're thinking of, but it is a BBC sci-fi program with capturing bubbles from the late 60s.
