Second - find a luthier near you and have one cut.

and I found one but he's out of town for about a month, I live in a very small town

It's something that you cannot buy and install. A nut must be cut to your bass if you want it to be right. You can pack it up and ship to another luthier, have them cut it, and then pay for return shipping but the cost would be huge.

You can go to another town if you need it now, but I would wait until your luthier returns.

You can build your own nut out of wood. Take ebony are some other hard wood.

hahaha man I love talkbass.....guys I found a ryobi router with router table for $60 on craigslist today, should I get it?

If its a decent ryobi...eg: RE175, RE180, RE600... If not, look to a speed control to help avoid wood burn.
