I was just up at the Mesa Hollywood store on Sat. Demo'd the 8x10 (1599.00) and the 2x15 (didn't sound very good at all so I didn't take note of the price on this one)
and the 8x10 and 4x12 combo....
Used the Titan V12 head. The 8x10's at 4 Ohms sounded very good! The 2x15's at 8 Omhs sounded just South of acceptable. and the 8x10 and 4x12 combination(had to use this 2x4 Ohm combo to get the head to full power at 2 Ohms....HEAVEN!
The 8x10 Boogie sounded amazing.....the 10's were tight and very responsive. Plenty of low end to go around....total pro tone....However the box weighed in at 179 pounds....and is a monster. My trip served it's purpose as I have ruled out the 15's(former loves of my life) and have opted to go with the light weight (comparativly) Epifani UL Series 2 4x10 cabs (2 of them) I like the fact that they handle 1000 wts per cab and peak at 2400 per cab....per the specs they are more powerful and have a little better range than the boogies...(They are indeed very pricey though, at 1150.00 per cab), However like I said....put a 2 Ohms load (or full power) to these 8x10 bins and they are very very nice indeed....FYI....Used a Lakland USA P to demo
