I need help!!!

i'm not trying to be a jerk, but my 600 watt rig with a 118 wasn't loud enough - i had to upgrade to 1000 watts and add another cab so my bandmates would stop complaining that they couldn't hear me. this was my metal rig
.
I’d love to play that loud but definitely would not want to be listening to that volume as an audience member. Pretty cool that you guys can do that.

One additional point to add... and I mean no offense by it.

From your self-assessment of your playing abilities, it seems you are somewhat of beginner. From your original post, it seems you're waiting to be contacted by a band.

That's a bit like a somewhat homely wallflower waiting to be asked to dance.

I think the main problem with BandMix is that people don't want to pay for access; they expect the other party to do so. (I think it would be in BandMix's interest to offer free membership, and to employ an ad revenue model; but, that's a separate discussion.)

If a search of bands in your area shows some that you think you might fit with, pay the money (like $12) to buy a month's worth of access on BandMix to reach out to all them, rather than waiting standing on the sidelines. I live in a major metro area, and have been contacted by others on BandMix; but, in both my current and prior bands, I reached out to them when they were looking.

I also think it would be helpful to have videos of you playing, even if it's just playing along with a cover song. Many are apprehensive to post a video, because it can be a double-edged sword; but you're going to have audition at some point. If you are not good enough for a band, and they decline from seeing your video, it actually saves you both time and effort.

Good luck in your pursuit.

I do have the paid membership and I do reach out to people I'm interested in, I just have problems with people getting back or contacting me first. I'm not necessarily waiting for a serious band to say 'hey come audition', rather I'm looking for individuals looking to start something up, or get a bassist for their line up for a new project. Like you said, I am green as far as performing with a group, so my chances of getting into an established group are slim to nil. I do need to record some demos/virtual auditions, the big thing holding me back is the fact that the only thing I've got to record myself is my phone. I have no recording gear or a decent laptop to record anything. I guess that should be my next investment based of the feedback. That and a bigger amp which is already on the list. Thanks for the candor.

I agree partially.
If you’re too poor, people have found a work around to the bandmix fee. I will not disclose any more info on this other than you can see what they did in their ads.

As far as video, I never put up video, picture or audio and never had contact issues with that site. I’d say too many contacts actually. Some, I wish I could have done but time, distance, or my bad health prohibited. In that case I don’t waste the opportunity. I converse only for a possible future contact and have re-met some over the years.
Your problem must be in the wording so you need to learn how. Read through a bunch, get a good ad together and replace it with something better.
