I need pot help!

My rear routed Warmoth body came in today and I have a problem with the pot shafts. They don't fit all the way through to the top. I'm using knobs that require a solid shaft pot. Does anyone know where I can find a long, solid shaft pot? I looked but maybe not hard enough

250K or 500K? I've seen them somewhere recently, can't remember where. Stewmac has long shafts in both CTS and Alpha, but they're the split/knurled type. I've seen solid shafts somewhere.

250k preferably but I could go 500k if it'll fit.

I'm not finding them, will keep digging through my bookmarks. The knobs require solid shafts? I've been successful using set screw knobs intended for solid shafts on split shafts, fwiw.

Here is a listing of Potentiometers I did on Mouser:

250 kOhm
Solid shaft
through hole or panel mount (you can clip off the panel mount tab). I've also found the panel mount ones have longer shafts.
15% tolerance

From there you can look at their spec. sheets.

Split shaft yes but slide a piece of plastic in the slot and solid shaft knobs work fine. Not saying you shouldn't get solids, just giving you a tip.

Pickguard mounted pots are typically short sleeve pots like panel pots.
Thru-the-wood mounts typically have longer sleeves, so that's the difference to look for regardless of source.

Like 96tbird said, you can usually use knurled pots just fine or with a little modification.

If the pot has a set screw, it will usually work without a problem. If the knob wobbles there are options to fix that:

Grind a bit of the knurls off where you want the set screw -or-

I went with long threaded pots and purchased the brass sleeves before I saw @JackANSI 's offer but thanks anyway, I still appreciate it dude!
