to make a long story short, i wanted to try fretless...i got a fretless fender jazz MIM. i don't really play it that much, and would like to either get a new fretted neck for it, or just trade it in, and get a new bass...

which would you all suggest?

Post classifieds saying you want to swap your MIM fretless neck for a fretted MIM. A bunch of people are looking to try a fretless.

Or, just lock your other bass(es) up and learn to play fretless. Once I did this, I almost prefer fretless to fretted.

+1 on locking it up and using it exclusively. i think it will grow on you. if that doesn't work, then i would post and try to trade. bringing it into a store to sell it back will not turn out good for you.
