How much of a variance? Are you saying an Eden cab marked 8 ohm is actually a 4 ohm cab, or is it an acceptable variance, like an 8 ohm reading 7.5 or so? Are you also saying this is true ONLY for Eden cabs? I now see you work for Peavey. I'm a BIG fan of your basses...just got one of the closeout US Milleniums and GAS for a Cirrus.

Who cares, use what you like. You're the one that has to carry it all. If using 10 times the equipment you need to force everyone else to turn up and make a bad FOH sound makes you happy, then great.

Because if an amp was designed for a 2 ohm minnimum load, and you load it down more than that it will current limit, if it has tight current limiting. If an amp was designed with just enough heatsink to get by at a 2 ohm load, it can overheat and thermal out. It depends on the amp you use whether or not you experience problems.

all cabinets, not just Eden, can "put out/on" a load less then what is stated during certain times in certain playing situations. This is normal and why disclosed impedance is "nominal".
This is also why we test our Genz Benz below the "minimum" impedance. So, by the way, the GBE600 is safe at 2ohms all day long ....you have no worries about it heating up.

I just spent a lot of money on Eden, I think it's a good product. Seems like they were being single out for a common problem.
I would go with Eden. I used to use hartke way back when, but since I switched to Eden I haven't looked back. Plus, I'd be wary at running at 2 ohms

Well, a week longer than a year now. Me, my amp, my big cabs, and, according to cheezewiz, tiny "attributes," and still no issues. So I'd say the man might be right about it being safe at 2 ohms. Though I'm not sure when cheezewiz has seen up my kilt, as it were. Must have been one of those crazy college nights I don't quite remember. I'm not going to offer to refute the assertion, I'm reasonably confident there's a forum rule against it.
