Double Bass I plan on building an electric upright. need help

hey there everybody. i plan on building an electric upright sometime this year. what kinds of pickups are there to choose from? i only have basic knowledge of bass guitar pickups.
im not looking for brand names, just types of pickups and how they work

Or theres my Neo Humdingler ...

Magnetic pups (like these) dont work very well for bowing and require steel strings.


Piezo pups are probably more versatile for EUB as they pick up the vibration direct from the bridge/body, will require
a pre-amp though as piezo's have a very high impedance.

the thing that beeps and buzzes is a round piezo element. If you remove that and solder connections to the element that then run to an output jack you've got a basic pickup, more or less like this
