I Play SS Because...

For me short scale is a huge drawback because less string choice available. I like a fairly stiff tension in strings and play downtuned quite often. Not being able to find or use thicker strings is a downer.
If I were to switch over to SS I'd always feel I left allot of tone choice on the table and feel the need to justify it.
 
And because I'm old, the opinion of some 12 year old beating the bejesus out of some bass in the music store and annoying the actual customers with money and explaining why only long scale basses with brand new rounds and maple bodies with active electronics produce good tone really means nothing to me.
