I removed the grill for my Peavey Basic 112 combo

I know there are other threads about removing grills from Peavey cabs, but I couldn't find any about a combo, and I thought I would share my experience. I have a silver stripe (mid-late 90's) model with a 12 inch speaker and 50 watts. It does not have the vertical gray stripes on each side like the classic cabs and combos. The 'silver stripes' on these models are plastic pieces that are attached to the grill. The grill is about 3/4 of an inch thick, and there is NO WAY to just pry the grill out from the outside.
I removed the screws on the top and two on the back that attach the amp chassis to the enclosure. You also have to take off the rear corner protectors. This allows the amplifier chassis to slide out the back a few inches which gives you access in the front to get behind the grill at the top. I used an allen wrench to pry the top corners loose. There is velcro-like hook and fastener material in each corner that holds the grill in place. This stuff is very strong, but if you can get something behind the grill to pry with, it comes off easy enough. I took some pics so you can see how it came apart.
Again, there is no way I would have gotten the grill off without removing the amp chassis to make room to get something behind it. I would have damaged it if I would have just tried to pry it from the sides. The grill is much thicker than I expected.
Another thing to note, after I put the amp back in the cab, and the grill won't re-attach. I may have to remove the amp again to push it hard enough onto the fastener material. For now I will leave it unattached, as the amp just sits in my basement.
I thought I would share this, as I have wondered for decades how to get the grills off Peavey combos. Hope it helps someone.
