Well sorta. After going to the Doc for my 6 month checkup and finding out I'm in pretty good shape for the shape I'm in, I decided to check out a new pawn shop I had not been to.
Expecting the usual assortment of lame junk at inflated prices. I was pleasantly surprised at a first class shop with sane prices.
On the music rack, mostly flat tops, but i did a quadruple take like you see in the cartoons with my cheeks slapping back and forth. It was a Peavey Forum "transitional" PJ. Like a third generation Fury with added J.
These are quite rare. I looked at it and...$135 ??!!. Great condition, made sure everything flew, left with it.
All that was wrong was the pots needed contact cleaner. They gave the impression it was defective but got it home , sprayed them and baddabing. This explains the $125 too low price.

Very nice P tone, wide range with full sweep, lacking nothing in itself. Very full and clean. Then the J . This is where it gets interesting. Soloed, it's useless. Blend it in with the P and it's like flipping the slap switch on an active bass. More like a tone control but what a tone. It seems they were going for a killer slap tone, and my guess is that is why the designed a new Forum, a MM-like bass perfect for slapping.
I'm really happy. The blended tone kills finger style too, I'm not a slap guy. By itself, the P is classic P. The neck is not pencil thin like a 3g Fury, more like a rounder fuller J neck. Oh, and not a cheepie single ply PG like on the Fury. W-B-W lam. Though I'm not into white guards generally, no biggie. Plain Jane Fender style bridge. I like them just fine.
