I want to get better on guitar

I've been playing bass a long time and have good cred. in general over the years. I am finding myself wanting to play more guitar and actually buy an inexpensive acoustic. have I lost my bass playing mind? Bob

I practice piano and guitar as much as I practice the bass.

Go for it. It can only help you be a better musician. I highly recommend an app called Yousician. You start at whatever level you feel comfortable with, and proceed at your own pace. They teach guitar, bass, ukulele, keyboards & vocals. You can learn to read music notation and tablature for Treble Clef, at the same time. Brush up on your chord spellings and use as much of the spelling as the song dictates.
Cmaj7 = R-3-5-7
C7 = R-3-5-b7
Cm7 = R-b3-5-b7
Cm7b5 = R-b3-b5-b7

If you have good credit, you won’t be denied if you apply for mortgage at some banks.

Nothing wrong with expanding your instrumental range.
When I started bass I was reluctant as I wanted to spend more time on guitar--but I found I enjoyed both and playing one helped me with the other.
Use Malcolm 35's chart and other stuff online and develop a style, etc.

9 years ago after a jazz gig ended because our schedules were too different, I started a classic rock band and had a lot of fun developing on guitar. At first we had two guitar players but after the first 2 years it was just me. It helped my bass playing (soloing) as well. I have been playing bass for 40 years and guitar for about 25. It's just fun playing music. I do have to admit my profession is String Orchestra Teacher for the past 21 years. So rocking out on a guitar is a change of pace, so is playing Weather Report.

I play both but prefer bass. It will only make you a better bass player. Do it.

Indeed, having a good approach to guitar will help your overall musicianship, and with might even translate to bass to a considerable degree.

I've been enjoying the challenge of having a real acoustic guitar. I'm working through the pain period now but having a great time. My pal gave me his Martin D-2832 Shenandoah! He owns two or three higher end guitars and was happy to pass this one to me. I like playing it. Needed a little set up work, which I did with good success in terms of improving playability. I have to be careful to stay practiced on bass though.
