I was new here... 10 years ago.

It just hit me that I joined TB in 2011 to buy a bass... but I've NEVER actually posted anything until today. 10 years was long enough to wait. Figured it was finally time to say hi.

Long-time lurker here. Been on TGP since 2007 so I'm sure I know some of you.

Until the past few years, all my gigs were on guitar. I was semi-retired from the New Jersey bar band world. Wasn't in a band. That made me available. I started picking up sub work on bass. One bass gig... led to another... led to another... and now for the first time since about 9th grade... I'm officially the bass player in a band. A long-term sub situation turned into a regular thing. Loving it. And that means I'll definitely be spending more time here.

For what it's worth... I've always tried really hard not to sound like the guitar player trying to play bass. Just felt like I needed to make that statement on the record!

My rig is very simple. P Bass > HX Stomp > MarkBass 112. That's all I need for what I'm doing. Very happy with that setup.

Anyway... just saying hi... 10 years late.

Oh... and I should definitely use one of my first posts to thank my former bandmate @jaysbassspace for letting me borrow his Sadowsky for the summer. Good to have friends like that!
