I must start by saying that: these things are so punchy and sound so monstrous. Tons of low end, and a nice chime at the top. I always found it neat how these basses were bright and dark both at the same time, with a nice harmonic complexity that is addictive. I have enjoyed making this one sound like a fretless by barely engaging the mute. This is by far of the top 3 best sounding basses I’ve ever owned, and I’ve had over 60 in my career. Maple fingerboard makes a great “POW”!
VITALS:
8.6 lbs
Ash body with maple caps
Three-piece maple bubinga bolt-on neck
Nickel tuners
RW/RP trad pickups
Passive tone and bass cut knobs with master volume and front jack for less cord snagging and chair poking.
The pickguard is not perfect, and there is some pitting in the bridge and pickup ring. There are a few finish chips and dings, but nothing that affects the playing experience. There is a large scratch near the side jack. Frets fine.
Trussrod is happy. Monster sound.
