Hey guys, I'm wondering which Ibanez 6 string would be better for metal: BTB676, BTB776PB or the SR756. I like the SR's neck more, but I prefer the woods and appearance of the BTB series. Would somebody mind just outlining the tonal differences between the three?

The BTBs are a 19mm spacing /35" scale basses, and the SR is 16.5 / 34". That is a big difference in my book, especially on a 6 string. Pickups are similar, preamps are identical. I think the biggest differences between them are going to be looks and playability.

Exactly this. They sound very similar and play COMPLETELY differently.

There is no difference other than appearance on those instruments. You'll hear people say how *insert model number* will have a bit more highs/lows/mids but they all play exactly the same. Same electronics, everything.

Just pick the one you like most.
