Ibanez Accu-cast Bridges

Does anyone know if there are any size differences between the Ibanez Accu-cast B120, B300 and B500 bridges?

I guess what I am really asking is, could I easily change one out for another?

As an example: is it just a case of removing the strings, unscrewing a B120, screwing in a B500, insert the strings and double check the setup?

Does anyone have any advice on this please? I really hoped someone else had maybe already done a similar thing.

I've tried comparing photos as close as I can to scale and they look practically the same size, but just need to be sure before I waste money on risking it.

you can adjust side spacing with a B500
The Accu-cast B500 bridge has adjustable saddles for string spacing adjustments, answering every bassist’s individual string spacing demands.The saddles can be adjusted ±1.5mm.

here are a couple measurements for a B300. doesn't totally help because the mounting hole dimensions are still unclear but...

Thanks, that's a great start and very helpful. If others have measured a B120 or B500 and have the details, we could begin to compare.

While my original question may not be something that many have considered, I'm sure plenty of people have measured the B120 and B500 when working out what other make of bridge to replace it with.

I replaced the B10 bridges that came on my Mikro and Mezzo basses with B300 bridges. The B300 is beefier, is cast rather than folded, and is quick-release, allowing the strings to be swapped easily. I did the swap on the Mikro because it looked like the holes would line up. I did the swap on the Mezzo because I had an extra B300 left over from another bass.

To answer the OP's question, the two holes nearest the neck line up, but the four holes under the intonation screws all needed to be moved ~3 mm toward the bass side and ~1 mm toward the neck. I filled the old holes, screwed the bass in by the to neck-side holes, marked the other holes, removed the bass, used a punch on the centers of the marks, then used a drill press to ensure the pilot holes were perpendicular to the surface. Then I screwed all 6 screws in.

Be aware that the minimum string height on the B300 appears to be a 1-2 mm higher than the B10.

Old thread but since I was interested in replacing the B120 with a B500 bridge (SR300B) and I couldn't find any info, I sent an email to the Ibanez USA.

So, good news:

"The B120 and B500 have the same base, so the mounting holes will line up. The saddle height adjustment screws are the same for both bridges, so they’ll adjust to the same height."

;)
