Any TB player's experience with this bass?

Bought this online. A fun bass, but having issues with the preamp. The thing is eating batteries...like one 9 volt per hour. Seems like this is a not too uncommon problem with the electronics. Have reached out to Ibanez, but I'm sure they are closed.

wow. can it be played without batteries?

No, you can’t play it without a battery. You can’t even leave it plugged in to the amp.
