My parents gave this bass to me for my 5th birthday, it was the first instrument I owned and I played it nearly every day for 15 years.. then I bought a P-Bass. Unfortunately, this Ibanez sat in a corner and collected dust for four years. I decided the other day to give it a little facelift and these were the results! I wanted to go for a rougher look & natural finish with a nice stain to reflect its age.
Sorry in advance, I didn't get too many pictures of the process (heat gun method). This was my first ever attempt at a re-finish so I had to concentrate.
I started by removing all the stickers and sticker residue (not pictured) by using this product called Goof-Off, which I purchased from Home Depot.
I'm pretty happy with the results, learned a lot along the way and have a second bass again! (Just needs a minor setup and it's ready to go). Hope you like it too.
