Yeah sometimes it is difficult to find the drawings, especially for the stranges designs. The mmost common like, stratocaster, telecaster, precision etc. are more easy to find. You could try contacting Ibanez, but I would bet that's all their copywritten information, and they aren't willing to share.
You would need to reverse engineer it if you want to copy it.
It would be like asking Chevy to send you a blueprint/plan and parts list for building a Corvette.![]()
I've already check on etsy, but i've found only the classics the designs like strat, tele. I can try to design by my own but i don't even know how to start.Did you look on Etsy? There’s typically a bunch of CAD design packages for all of the well-known guitar designs from the Fender Jazz, Precision, Stats to Gibson, Les Paul’s, PRS, etc..
If not, it’s pretty darn easy to draw up your own… maybe a great opportunity for you to learn something new perhaps?
If you're copying the Mikro the easiest thing to do is pick up a used one, copy it, and sell that one off again. There are usually used ones available without looking too much, I bought an almost new one off Craigslist for $50.Hi Everyone, I'm a luthier hobbist and I need your help. I was planning to realize a shortscale bass, do you know if there is a plan for the ibanez mikro bass? I've made a search online but didn't find anything.
Wow thank you, Rudy. I've see your build and it's incredible! If you're copying the Mikro the easiest thing to do is pick up a used one, copy it, and sell that one off again. There are usually used ones available without looking too much, I bought an almost new one off Craigslist for $50.
If you are simply looking for "short scale plans" then you can print off the one I provide in the build I posted here on Talkbass:
Building A Short Scale P Bass
That details a bass built to 30" scale length, which is what you'll usually find referred to as a short scale bass (outside of the 28.6" Ibanez and a few other import short scales).
Sometimes you can search for ‘shop drawing’ of something like that terminology.Hi Everyone, I'm a luthier hobbist and I need your help. I was planning to realize a shortscale bass, do you know if there is a plan for the ibanez mikro bass? I've made a search online but didn't find anything.
The MiKro is a cool bass for sure.Hey OP,
You could also go to the nearest music store with an Ibanez Mikro, and ask them nicely to trace the bass.
Bring some Velum paper and maybe some beer for the owner/employees.
