Ibanez Musician Bass Club

I’m trying figure out if this is a super early Musicians bass on this ABBA video taken back 1978, considering they were introduced in 1979.

Maybe a Greco? They were selling very similar looking models to Ibanez, both were Fujigen builds, IIRC, with some body shape differences and hardware differences. I don't think Ibanez ever did white/cream pickup covers but Greco did.

Just picked up a MC924 and am considering putting flats on it. Anyone have any recommendations? Was thinking of Thomastik-Infeld or La Bella... or Roto? Any experienced input really appreciated.
I like GHS Precision flats. Pretty much on all of my basses, mc924 as well, feel, tension, cost, tone out of the box, tone a year in ...sooooo subjective though

True. I have liked GHS flats on my P bass, but preferred the Thomastik-Infeld for my Rick. Thinking this bass could benefit from the more delicate nature of the latter, but wanted to get a response from the group to feel it out. Thanks!

I got it off FB marketplace from an older couple, and they said it hadn't been played in about 20 years. Original case. I checked the battery and its expiration date was 2004 (No corrosion in that compartment or on the terminal). I didn't get it for a steal but figure it was more or less fair value. They were selling it as an MC824...

I think I have GHS flats on my 924, but haven't played it in some time. I really do like the Ernie Ball stainless steel flats (Group 1), or the LaBella Original '54 flats, but I do tune to D-standard (they are on a couple of Roadsters of the same era — a 940 and an 824).

I mainly use D'Addario ECB Chromes, it's just a matter of personal taste. I also use D'Addario EXL170 and tapewound strings, depending on the music/song I play. It all depends on your own playing style, tone preference and so on... The list of variables is long. Try several brands and types and gauges until you find the right ones for you. Keep in mind that a new string often needs a reset of the trussrod and bridge to get it right for your playing style.

Just purchased a 1984 MC924PW and would love to have a copy of the owner's manual. If anyone hear has a pdf they could share I would be most grateful. If anyone can point me to a website that has specs/dimensions, that would be a start....
Thanks to AphekGreg for directing me to this thread.

zener diode on my mc900 was my issue, you have a gen 3 musician or 924 v2, not sure if anyone here can provide the schematic in the event you may have the same issue
Not sure if this will help you...
