Ibanez preamp upgrade to Bart?

I’m new here, and I’m sorry if this has been asked already. Has anyone upgraded the stock Ibanez preamp to a Bartolini using the stock Ibanez PowerSpan pickups? Looks like the Bart uses 2 wires and the pickups have 3. Hope that mashes sense. Appreciate any help I can get!

The pickups have 3 wires to support the power tap switch (more info here: https://www.talkbass.com/threads/ibanez-power-tap-fully-explained.1575065/). You could run a coil tap switch with the Bartolini preamp or you could change three wires to two (by wiring two of the three together) and just run the pickup as a series humbucker (since the stock coil switch is single coil, single coil with filter, or series humbucking). I am not sure which wires you would need to run together on that pickup to get series, but you can figure it out with a multimeter ().

Edit: I have not watched the video from the linked thread. Good chance it explains which wires you need.

Excellent, that sounds like a good plan. Think I’ll probably figure out which wires to combine, but I’ll watch the video and see what makes sense. Thank you so much for the info!
