Hey I've been doing a bit of research but I'm looking to overhaul the electronics on my Ibanez Prestige SR1005. The stock pickups and pre-amp sound a bit dead to me. I play in a death metal band and am looking for a more thick aggressive tone.
I've narrowed down the pickups to better Bartolinis (stockers are claimed to be mk1 but I've been told they're custom), or EMG's.
Onboard pre-amp I can't decide between bartolini, aguilar or EMG. The stocker is an ibanez pre-amp with stacked bass/treble, pickup blend, volume, and stacked mid/mid frequency. I'm thinking I don't necessarily need the mid frequency knob because there's already one on my ampeg svt 4.
Anyone wanna help point me in the right direction? I want to do this right the first time.
