I bought this bass last year to play while my new Ristola 6 was being built. That bass is just about done so it's time to let this one go. It started it's life as a pretty sad SR506 and is now a heavily modified machine. All of the hardware is new as well as the pickups and electronics. The bass also got a full setup, including a reseating and cleaning of the frets as well as a fret leveling and it was fully shielded. Here's the rundown of the specs:

    34" scale
    16.5mm spacing at the bridge
    2 1/16" nut width
    maple neck
    rosewood fingerboard
I don't know the body wood...
Bartolini CB dual coils (EMG shape)
    Aguilar OBP-3 preamp
    Hipshot ultralight tuners
    Hipshot A Bridge
    Dunlop inlaid straplocks
bacote ramp between the pickups...this is held on with double sided tape so it's easily removable if you so choose
full shielding in the control cavity

Ok, now all of the imperfections for full disclosure. They were all there when I got the bass. None of these effect the playability in any way but here you go. There's a missing screw for the control cavity cover. I don't have one that will fit but that's an easy fix for someone. There isn't a truss rod cover. There's an area slightly larger than a quarter on the top of the body where the green/blue coloring is faded. There's a thin crack that looks like it was created by someone tightening the B string tuner screw too tight at the back of the headstock. It's been professionally fixed/filled with heavy duty glue. It shouldn't ever pose a problem. There was a small spot of the fingerboard where it looks like someone dropped the bass onto something and nicked it. It's at the 11th fret on the edge of the treble side. That was filled with what looks like glue as well....I actually had forgotten about it since it was fixed. It's not something that you'd ever notice while playing the bass and it's something that you have to look for now.

So basically this bass has gotten a complete face lift. This is an amazing bass for someone that wants a great sounding/playing 6 string without spending a lot of dough.

The bass does not have a case. It was shipped to me double boxed which is exactly what I will do as well.

The price is $1000 shipped or best offer. No trades and no sales outside of the US please. If someone locally would like the bass than I'd be happy to sell it for a little less. Thanks.

.....please note that in the pictures there are only three knobs....I don't use the treble stack from the preamp so I had taken it out. It's back in now but I have yet to be able to take a newer photo.

Thanks man...yeah, it's a great little bass now for sure.

I also want to add, if someone would like the bass without the ACG preamp than I could lower the price and you can put your own preamp in it. That would lower the price a good deal as the ACG preamp is costly...worth it in my opinion but costly none the less. I'd be happy to sell the preamp separately if someone was to buy the bass without it.

Free bump for a bass that I would own in the blink of an eye if I weren't a poor high school student.

I hear you...if I wasn't a poor adult soon-to-be student again then I'd probably keep this around. Great, great bass.

I have no problems sending a sound clip to serious inquiries, but please get back to me to let me know that you got it. There seems to be a trend of asking for stuff such as pictures and sound clips and then a complete disappearance.....so either noone is getting what I'm sending, my playing in the clip is so bad that noone wants to hurt my feelings, or else people are just inconsiderate.

I'm glad someone enjoyed that. ;)

  17. Wow, there's a bit of a flashback for Gman!

My 2nd bass ever was almost identical...well, except the better tuners, better bridge, better pickups, better preamp, better...

...but yeah, same color and everything.

    :)

I always thought it was a great playing and feeling bass, and that it sounded pretty darn good "acoustically", but the stock Ibanez electronics choked the life out of the tone.

I did upgrade the pickups and preamp on mine (EMG stuff), and it helped, but the string spacing eventually became it's downfall, I just prefer wider string spacing (19 mm on all of my personal basses now). I don't even have big hands...never could figure that out....

...good luck moving it man! And whoever gets it, this is a great instrument!!!

  18. ...so...let me get this straight...you're saying your playing sucks?

    ;)

Ha, ha! Thanks Gard. Actually, this bass had EMG's in it when I bought it. They were both different arpetures though and different sizes. It really is a great bass, but I've got a really special bass I'm picking up on Saturday from Brian:hyper:

....Let me know when Keith's ready to make a 26 fret bass. ;) I do love me some Roscoe!.....oh, and Keith ever tried cherry wood for a body? I'm in love with it and not many folks use it.

The ACG preamp from the bass has been sold. I'm happy to sell the bass without a preamp "as is" and someone can put a preamp into it. I'd sell it for $925 shipped that way. Otherwise I'll put a preamp into the bass and the price will be more.
