Ibanez SR700 "stock" strings...

This may need to go in the "strings" section, not sure. I just put it here because I have a question about a specific bass. I have a new Ibanez SR700 I bought in December and wondered if anyone knows what strings come on it when it is shipped. I think Elixers but I'm not sure. I'm looking for the brand and size...thanks.

Assuming you bought it new -- yes, Ibanez basses ship with Elixir strings. On 4-stringers, the gauges are 45-65-85-105 (add a 130 for fivers, and a 32 on sixers).

Yes, it was brand new, in the box. I guess Elixer's are pretty good? I'm planning on putting "rounds" on the bass soon. I do like EB Slinky's but thought about using the strings that came on it since I have them. Thanks.

Haha, I liked them so much, they go on all my basses now. Very clear and mellow. I sold the bass, the neck gave me cramps. Congrats on the purchase!

I use to play when I was 14 years til I got out of high school. I went to college and played some football and busted all of my fingers so I stopped playing for years. I just started up again maybe 3 years ago. Now I'm 52. I started using "flats" to reduce a lot of my finger noise. I guess my hands and fingers started moving better because I put some Slinky's on a Jazz the other day and I had hardly any finger noise. I decided to take the flats off of my Ibby. I replaced them with the "stock" strings. I love the way it sounds. I may end up converting back to rounds. I need to write the model of these strings down. I want more! lol
I think I will keep flats on my Precision though for "thumping" some country. Thanks for your help. And these are Nanoweb Light Gauge?
